In this Short Hills, NJ residence, YZDA transformed a common space into a vibrant music room that seamlessly blends education with entertainment, creating an inviting environment perfect for family gatherings and shared musical moments. The design showcases vinyl records and bespoke guitar display cases, infusing the room with a sense of nostalgia and personal expression. These elements are complemented by custom acoustic wall panels that not only provide a visually appealing backdrop but also enhance the room's sound quality, all while being crafted from sustainable materials. This thoughtful integration of aesthetics and functionality encourages both creativity and sustainability.

Adding a whimsical touch, the space features the unique "Night Lanterns on Light" textile artwork from Scotland. This piece enriches the room with texture and color, adding an element of playfulness while also enhancing soundproofing. The artwork evokes a sense of wonder and creates a dynamic visual experience that mirrors the musical creativity that will be explored in the space. Karaoke nights are elevated with a portable machine, turning the room into a lively hub of entertainment. A luxurious French sofa, designed for both comfort and durability, provides a cozy spot for relaxation, inviting family and friends to settle in and enjoy the music-filled ambiance.

ニュージャージー州のショートヒル市は、緑に囲まれた静かな高級住宅街です。アメリカ中南部より、四人家族で引越しをされる際に２０１４年に建設された、新築物件を購入。その際に、インテリアデザイン、カラーコーディネート、アクセサリーデザイン、そして最終の仕上げであるスタイリングを全て行うことを依頼されました。また、国内外を問わず、 ポップなアートや絵画を探して 購入をすることを求められました。

モダンで遊び心のあるデザインを課題とし、インテリア全体を白、黒、グレーとブルーモノトーンで明るい空間にし、ブルーや明るめのアクセントカラーを使い、家具やアクセサリーなどを創作。また、躍動感のあるポップアートに合わせて、アートに使われているアクセントカラーをそれぞれ強調して、インテリアとコーコーディネートとさせた。ユニークな小物をあしらい、お部屋を全体に個性的し仕上げた。 また、この新築物件は、『コロニアスタイル』というアメリカでは、とても有名な一戸建ての家。クラシックな内装の中に、モダンなものを入れて、どのようにブレンドされるのかが、私自身の大きな課題とされました。

小さな子供達が自由に遊び、学べる空間、そして安全性を重視し、堅苦しいフォーマルなデザインを避け、ゆっくりと家族の団欒が楽しめる家とした。また、たくさんの来客をもてなすワインバーキャビネットを設計し、ダイニングルームを豊かに創造することができた。 アメリカンオーク素材を中心に、ダークな木色調と真っ白を基調とした壁のスペースがとても反映され、満足のいく仕上がりとなりました。
